THE PAINT
Paint finishing is one of the most important factors in a wooden window. The paint finishing cycle, using water-based products, is divided into three application phases:
PRIMER: a preparation containing specific dyes that penetrate the wood, avoiding alteration caused by UV rays and preventing the attack of fungi and bacteria.
INTERMEDIATE BASE COAT: this consolidates the fibres, sealing the entire section of the concealed parts of the window frame.
FINISH: this applies the correct quantity of paint to guarantee perfect coverage and protection of the wood.
Walor group, a pioneer in its sector, has now since 1988 used water-based products, applying paint finishes by means of a completely automatic system, able to guarantee totally uniform coats. For this reason paint-finishes of a Walor group product are “guaranteed”, i.e. are accompanied by a special guarantee for sealing in outdoor conditions, for a duration of 4 years, without maintenance.
Close collaboration with suppliers has always been a source of motivation and improvement for the Walor group. In fact today the company is proud to present the results of its latest project:
HRS FINISH: 10-YEAR GUARANTEE ON PAINT LIFETIME: The innovative cycle HRS , High Resistance System, envisages 4 coating phases rather than 3: primer, intermediate base coat, and two finishing coats. Walor group has had to adapt its windows, studying more rounded off forms, to avoid the accumulation of humidity; the radiused edges thus aid paint uniformity eliminating the risk of discontinuity.
This innovative finish exploits a polymer of a new technology, containing organic nanotechnological functional particles, i.e. infinitely small and able to adhere better to the rough surface of wood. It also envisages that Walor group seals all heads and joints by means of a special sealant, specially prepared, to prevent the entry of humidity in the wood.
